IDACOM UNVEILS FOUR NEW TESTING PRODUCTS AT INTERFACE '89
New York, NY, MARCH 13, 1989...IDACOM introduced three new
conformance testing products and a new network performance
analysis product, on the opening day of INTERFACE '89.
IDACOM provided first-time ever demonstrations of these
products at their exhibit booth # 1571, at the Jacob K.
Javits Convention Center.
IDACOM's THREE NEW CONFORMANCE TEST PRODUCTS:
IDACOM is changing the nature of conformance testing. The
introduction of these three new conformance testing products
is part of a strategy to deliver conformance testing
solutions which match the needs of a wide range of end
users. In the past, conformance testing was primarily done
by academics in universities or specialized research labs,
using systems not known for user-friendliness or
universality. Now, new products have been developed with a
universal, user-oriented approach to conformance testing.
They share a common human-interface, and feature portability
and user-friendliness. All three new conformance test
products have systematic, menu-driven operation to guide the
user through every stage of the test.
NEW ISDN Terminal Conformance Testing Package - performs
1280 conformance tests, including 300 TEI assignment, 320
information transfer, 8 deactivation/activation, 290 valid,
270 invalid and 100 active tests. This test pak is
available on all IDACOM ISDN Protocol Testers.
NEW X.25 Conformance Testing Package - tests X.25 products
to ensure compliance with the following standards: ISO 8882
(same test suites as on the XCTS, a product previously
announced with COS), DDN, CEPT NET2, and CTS/WAN. This new
package offers the complete set of test suites for each of
these North American and international standards and is
available on all IDACOM Protocol Testers.
NEW SNA Conformance Testing Package - does extensive testing
of the IUT's (3274 type device) response to invalid protocol
procedures in order to verify that SNA hardware or software
does conform to SNA standards. This package allows the user
to select from a range of tests, including individual
testing of each layer of SNA, and it includes a SNA traffic
generator. This test pak is available on all IDACOM
testers.
IDACOM's NEW NETWORK PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS PRODUCT:
To assist network managers, IDACOM is offering a new network
performance analysis package, the first of several new
IDACOM tools for network maintenance.
NEW X.25 Network Performance Analysis Package - collects
both link and packet layer statistics from a data line
running X.25. Statistics collected include: traffic (such
as frame and packet counts), line utilization (such as frame
and packet overhead percentages), and performance (as
response timing). Statistics can be collected per LCN and
as a link total. This network maintenance tool is available
on all IDACOM testers.
