I'm posting this for a friend... Agranat Systems announces: NEW PROGRAMMABLE EDITOR EMULATES EMACS, VI, AND MOST OTHER EDITORS Brockton, MA -- A new programmable editor for the IBM PC that can emulate EMACS, VI, and most other editors has been introduced by Agranat Systems, Brockton, MA. Called Infinitor (TM), the advanced ASCII editor and text processing utility is designed to give programmers unprecedented creative power, speed and flexibility in performing standard and unique editing tasks. The TPL Text Processing Language (TM) allows users for the first time to emulate their favorite editors or the ones they use at work. Moreover, users can actually add the features of one editor to another editor simply by writing a TPL program. Infinitor comes with EMACS and VI emulations. Other editors can be easily emulated by writing TPL programs. The sophisticated Text Processing Language also allows users to perform complex text processing functions like macro translation. They can, for example, create a file with user-defined macros and, with a keystroke, expand it into the actual compiler-readable program. By writing a TPL program, users can compile while still inside the editor ... look at a file in one window, look at an error in another window and move to the next error with a keystroke. Users can customize on-line references and commands, execute DOS commands from inside the editor, and create new interactive editing functions. Infinitor comes with 17 TPL programs; individual users create their own additional programs for any number of tasks. The new programmable editor also features an ultra-flexible windowing system called Nimble Windows (TM), which allows users to run 10 editors simultaneously, each with its own window and file. The Nimble Windows design makes it easy to switch back and forth between files, change the size and position of a window and pop a new file into a window at will. Users can select, size and position windows at a keystroke and split windows vertically or horizontally to work on two parts of the same file. The novel windowing system allows programmers to cut and paste between files quickly, without shuffling between files, scrolling between file parts and repeating keystrokes. With Nimble Windows, users can, for example, simultaneously examine and modify source and insert files without exiting or reentering the editor and edit two parts of the same file without scrolling back and forth. The new Infinitor Programmable Editor also features keyboard macros, unlimited file size, on-the-fly keyboard re-configurations, automatic indenting, block manipulation, search and replace, restore line and on-line help. The program requires and IBM PC or equivalent with at least 384K memory. Infinitor comes on a 5.25 inch diskette, complete with 172 page documentation and Quick Reference Guide for $150. The program is not copy protected.
