-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Delft, April 1989 - Westmount Technology, a company located
in Delft, The Netherlands, with an office in Belgium, an-
nounces a number of new products in the Computer Aided
	Software Engineering field (CASE).

	TSEE/CASE
TSEE/CASE fill the gap between the specific real-time
software development and the information systems
development. For this reason it is possible to offer
the right choice of CASE tool, which fulfills the needs
	     of a project team.
TSEE/CASE is meant for the market of developers of
technical and scientific software tools, like CAD/CAM,
operating system software, various tools, desk top pub-
lishing, geophysical applications. It offers support
for the techniques as defined by Yourdon/deMarco, Chen,
	     Constantine and Jackson.

	RTEE/CASE
Version 1.1 of RTEE/CASE is meant for developers of
real-time embedded software systems, possibly using a
	     real-time kernel. RTEE/CASE 1.1 fully supports all
phases of the software lifecycle, like Analysis, Design
and Implementation. In the Analysis and Design phase
full support is offered for the Yourdon/DeMarco, Jack-
son, Chen and Constantine structured methods, with all
real-time extensions as specified by Ward and Mellor.
The implementation phase offers a complete programming
environment with a full version and configuration
mechanism for a project team within a network. It also
offers the possibility to add a (symbolic) debugger,
system monitors and system builders for a specific
real-time kernel, and to use and In Circuit Emulator
	     for debugging and performance analysis.

	ISEE/CASE
Version 1.1 of ISEE/CASE is meant for builders of
information systems, based on a relational database
model. ISEE/CASE is directed towards the big EDP-
departments, bank-, insurance-, business- and insuran-
ceworld, software houses and builders of hospital sys-
tems. Special care has been taken to support the com-
plete software lifecycle. In ISEE/CASE the method of
Yourdon SA/SD with techniques by Yourdon, Chen, Jackson
and Constantine is realised. Code generation is present
for any SQL-based database or for Ingres/4GL. By using
ISEE/CASE a considerable quality improvement of the
information system will be reached, which will espe-
cially be of importance during maintenance, because
maintenance still takes about 60% of system development
	     costs.

All of Westmount's CASE products are composed in a modular
way, meaning that the various parts (Analyst, Designer, Pro-
grammer) can be bought seperately, although all information
will be stored in one central database. To implement this an
intelligent licensing mechanism is used which allows for the
distribution of keys within a heterogeneous network.

The new Westmount products offer extremely advanced possi-
bilities for supporting medium to large project teams. It is
possible to work with a large number of persons in a hetero-
geneous network environment using workstations of different
manufacturers to create one consistent product. This is sup-
	ported by:

+ workbreakdown in the analysis phase
+ global and local design objects
	+ locking mechanisms
+ storage on corporate- and projectlevel
+ re-use of parts of the design

Much attention has been paid to the use of industrial stan-
	dards, like

	+ X-windows
	+ TCP/IP
	+ NFS
	+ SQL
	+ Unix or VMS

	Availability
The Westmount CASE products are available now for SUN,
Apollo and DEC/VAX possibly in combination with X-
	     terminals.

	Prices
Prices vary according to the configuration, but the
	     average cost-per-seat is $7500.
