July 26, 1989 - Austin, TX

Dell Computer Corporation has been shipping, with its 386 systems, Dell
UNIX System V/386 release 3.2 since April of this year. Included with
the base system is VP/ix, which allows concurrent execution of MS-DOS
applications.

As of July, Dell began shipping the X Window System (version 11.3) with
the OSF/Motif Window Manager. X and Motif are also included in the base
system and are available as a free upgrade to current Dell UNIX customers.

With its April delivery, Dell became the first company to ship a product
using AT&T's UNIX trademark. This version of the UNIX system is fully
compliant with AT&T's System V Interface Definition (SVID) and is also
binary compatible with XENIX applications.

Dell is the first company to make available the OSF/Motif Window Manager.
The current product is based on OSF snapshot 7, the final version from
OSF will be made available later this fall.
