TCP/2 includes a resident device driver which provides network services in both protected mode and in DOS compatibility mode. TCP/2 uses Microsoft/3Com standard NDIS/Protocol Manager and MAC-level drivers to support Ethernet adapters. In addition, up to two SLIP lines may be connected via the COM1/COM2 serial ports. TCP/2 applications can run in Presentation Manager windows. TCP/2 supports server operation for remote file access and command execution at an OS/2 workstation. TCP/2 includes the following application commands: Remote login: telnet tn3270/mset rlogin Remote printer access: lpq lpr lprm Remote command execution: rexec rsh File transfer: rcp ftp tftp Remote tape access: tar rmt Network information services: cookie finger gettable htable whois News reader: red Servers: fingerd ftpd inetd rexecd rshd Configuration and diagnostic: arp hostname ifconfig netstat netd ping route TCP/2 was developed by Daniel Lanciani, DLD Consulting and will be distributed by Essex Systems, Inc.
