rosso@sco.COM (Ross Oliver) (12/19/89)

November 1989 ... The Santa Cruz Operation, Inc. is now accepting
orders for Early Availability Program (EAP) versions of both the SCO
TCP/IP Runtime System and the SCO TCP/IP Development System for use with
the SCO UNIX 386 Operating System. Product and availability
information follow:

PRODUCT NAMES: SCO TCP/IP Runtime System
                SCO TCP/IP Development System

DESCRIPTION: SCO TCP/IP provides high-performance Ethernet and
asynchronous network connections to a wide variety of operating
   systems and computers.

The SCO TCP/IP package contains a complete protocol suite including
TCP, UDP, IP, ARP, ICMP, and SMTP, standard DoD Internet Telnet
   and FTP utilities, a set of 4.3BSD "r-commands," a 4.3BSD
standard socket library, an MMDF II SMTP delivery channel for use
with the standard SCO UNIX MMDF II mailer, a BSD-compatible "sendmail"
mailer, AT&T V.3 Transport Library Interface (TLI) support,
subnetworks and gateway support, user-friendly installation and
configuration procedures and, in addition to 3Com and Western Digital
LAN card support, asynchronous SLIP drivers.

SCO TCP/IP consists of the SCO TCP/IP Runtime System and the
optional SCO TCP/IP Development System. The Runtime System
contains the base TCP/IP system, including all utilities, and
supports applications that use the SCO TCP/IP socket library
interface. The SCO TCP/IP Development System contains the SCO
TCP/IP socket libraries for inclusion in applications that
developers intend to run on the SCO TCP/IP Runtime System.

The Early Availability Program (EAP) has been designed to give
developers and highly strategic customers access to a functional
version of SCO TCP/IP prior to the availability of the final release.
The Early Availability Program versions of this may be sold to
developers, subject to approval, through the SCO Developers Program.
All other orders for these products require prior approval from
   the product manager.

Purchasers of the EAP version automatically receive complimentary
SOS Bulletin Board support and support via Electronic mail.

All SCO Developers receive support via the SOS BBS and electronic
mail via usenet (or direct uucp connection). We strongly recommend
that developers also purchase one of the optional developer support
   packages such as Developer SoftTech.

If a higher level of support is desired, SCO Developer's Softtech
is the only other program to provide support for this product.
Purchasers of this product will also receive a free upgrade to
the final release when available. The final release of the Runtime
System is currently scheduled for December 1989. The Development
   System will follow shortly thereafter.
