+ I have been receiving quite a few requests that net.tv.soaps be created to contain the discussions of TV soap operas (daytime and nighttime). If you have an opinion on this topic, please reply to net.news.group. --> Allen <-- ihnp4!ihuxb!alle

A definite "YES" vote for net.tv.soaps. That'll get the soaps away from all the people who hate to see them (so they can read all the really *important* TV discussions - like the hundreds of articles on HSB locale!). It'll also give us addicts a place to keep up on the things that are more important (like what the Chandlers are really up to!) Marguerite ...!iwpba!maggie2

# I'm glad someone brought this up. The SoapSummaries are not interesting to me an serve a specific audience, so let's put them in a separate place. [ Please do not analogize to net.music.classical or I will become annoyed ]

You should see the soaps overhere. They are probably just as dull as anywhere. If there is really something interestin on the subject it will have turned up in net.misc (Thar is my favorite soap opera). Jaap

I second the request for net.tv.soaps. The daily reports on proceedings on various soaps now form a considerable portion of the traffic on net.tv and I'm not the least bit interested. -- From the TARDIS of Mark Callow msc@qubix.UUCP, decwrl!qubix!msc@Berkeley.ARPA ...{decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl!qubix!msc, ...{ittvax,amd70}!qubix!msc "I'm a citizen of the Universe, and a gentleman to boot!"

I think that when over a third of the articles regularly appearing in a group relate to a subset of that group and there are howls of anguish over this fact, then it's time to form another group. By the way, theory aside, *YES*. I *hate* soaps. -- The preceding message was brought to you by -- Ray Chen princeton!tilt!chenr

>> I think that when over a third of the articles regularly appearing in a >> group relate to a subset of that group and there are howls of anguish >> over this fact, then it's time to form another group. Ok, I'm sort of ambivalent on this one. I just checked our spool files and found that we have 77 articles in net.tv (our default expiration is 2 weeks). This means that we get an average of maybe 6 articles a day in this group. One third of these works out to about 2 articles a day. I can certainly type 'n' to 2 articles a day! However, I *loathe* soaps, so if one of you wishes to create net.tv.soaps, I certainly won't stand in your way. If created, we SHOULD move the evening soaps (Dullest, Dy-trashy, etc.) there as well.
