                    IBM'S NEW RISC SYSTEMS
                       GET VMS SUPPORT.

ANDOVER, MASS., MAY 30, 1990...Boston Business Computing,
Ltd., the developer of DEC-compatible software announces that
it has ported its VMS-emulation family of software to IBM's
new RISC/6000 line of UNIX workstations. The software
packages, designed to help VMS users coexist with or move to
UNIX systems easily, include EDT+, VCL, Vmail, and Vbackup.
Combined, these products provide the most complete VMS-to-UNIX
software solution today across a spectrum of applications:
software development, user interface, communications,
electronic mail, and data storage and retrieval. BBC is
scheduled to demonstrate the software at DEXPO East (Booth
#1032), June 26-28, Boston, MA.

EDT+, the only complete emulation of DIGITAL's text
editor, VAX EDT, available for MS-DOS and UNIX systems,
implements all of the features of VAX EDT, including TPU/EVE
functionality, 132-column mode, status line and ruler,
insert/overwrite modes, an UNDO command, GOLD-key editing,
user-defined keys, windows, disaster recovery, and macros.
VCL features over 100 DCL commands and utilities with over 300
qualifiers, command files, symbols, wildcards, line editing,
and command history. Vmail is an emulation of the VMS MAIL
interface which features VMS MAIL commands and qualifiers.
Vbackup is an emulation of the VMS BACKUP utility which
enables users to read and write VMS BACKUP tapes on UNIX
systems using VMS or UNIX syntax.

According to Edward J. Gaudet, BBC's Marketing Manager,
"BBC's products are among the first products for IBM's RISC
platforms that offer VMS users a migration path to the
RS/6000. Clearly, IBM is looking to gain market share in
DEC's backyard - technical/engineering sites. Software such
as ours helps reduce the learning curve and UNIX prejudice at
these VMS sites."

All products are available now. Licenses start at
$995.00 and include a 30-day, money-back guarantee and free
customer support and updates for two months. Annual
Maintenance Plans are available. For more information, call
