[net.works] MacIntosh mouse, bad ball position?

Works fine for me. Perhaps you could try holding it differently?

If you lay your arm (palm down of course) touching the table up to
your wrist, then you tend to grab the mouse (for right hander) on the
left side with your thumb, leaving the index finger on top for button
pressing, and the pinky and next closest on the right side. Held this
way the ball is between and under the fingers doing the positioning.

For MacWrite, with the mouse in "fast" movement mode (set on the
control panel) this is pretty ideal. You need very little desk space
to go from one sceen edge to the other. For fine movement you
actually can use your fingertips to position it. Larger movements are
accomplished like with a pencil, you lift your forearm, or elbow
depending on how grand a swoop you need.
