Powerful Software and Hardware Duo
For Systems Integrators, OEMs & VARs
* Image-Pro for the Sun
The leading image processing software package for
analyzing and enhancing digitized images now runs on
one of today's most powerful line of workstations: Sun
Microsystems Sun 3, Sun 4 and SPARC workstations.
Image-Pro for the Sun provides an imaging environment
integrated into the overall workstation, creating an
open system.
* Multitasking and Flexible
Image-Pro for the Sun conforms to the SunView windowing
environment and takes full advantage of multitasking
performance and flexibility. You have the ability to
take advantage of hardware application accelerators.
The internal structure is designed to support "plug-in"
software and hardware. Designed for Systems Integra-
tors, VARs and OEMs, Image-Pro for the Sun can be cus-
tomized, in part or in total, to fit your application.
An integrator may elect to only supply those tools
which are needed for one application, or may choose to
mix Image-Pro tools with other programs under SunView,
and may create and integrate new imaging tools.
Image-Pro for the Sun is built around a collection of
imaging tools designed in the spirit of UNIX tools. The
tools can work independently, as part of shell scripts,
or interactively through the windowing environment.
* Powerful Software
Image-Pro for the Sun supports the full range and power
of Image- Pro, including the following features:
- Fast Fourier Transform tool for image enhancement
by modifying the periodic variations of the origi-
nal images.
- 3-D Profile tool to display a three-dimensional
graph of information in a selected area of
interest.
- Interactive pan and zoom, viewer and area of
interest selectors for viewing images in different
ways.
- A Histogram tool to generate and display a histo-
gram of the current area of interest, which
includes a two-dimensional graph display, a numer-
ical statistics display, and control options.
- Spatial filtering tools for editing frequencies in
an image with various filters including sharpening
and blurring filters, edge detecting filters and
morphological filters.
- A Registration tool for altering the viewpoint of
an area of interest in one image to match that of
another, using reference, source, and destination.
- Annotator for adding text and simple graphics to
an image.
- Contrast enhancement for adjusting brightness.
- Ability to accommodate images larger than the
display.
- An Equalization tool for automatically equalizing
the distribution of gray levels in an image to an
arbitrary curve.
- A Halftone tool to generate a digital halftoned
version of your image for printing purposes.
- Measurement tools for calibrating and measuring
areas, linear distances and perimeters on an
image.
- A Pseudocolor feature for manipulating the image
color palette in order to highlight portions of an
image.
- Mathematical operations to perform calculations
between an image and a constant, or between two
images.
