Xnth is an implementation of X11 R4 which runs on AT-bus PCs running DOS 3.3 or higher. It currently supports 1280X1024 or 1024X768 resolution monitors at 256 colors (out of 16M) with hardware acceleration for graphics and text operations. It currently utilizes a TCP/IP byte stream over Ethernet. Xnth works just fine on a 286-based PC, and even better on 386s or 486s. Performance is rather good (2380 filled 10-pixel rectangles per second, 5290 10-point characters per second according to the x11perf benchmark), and price is competitive (starting at $1995.) Support for PS/2, DECnet, Token Ring and significant performance enhancements are under development. For information, contact Andy Lowe Nth Graphics, Ltd. 1807-S W. Braker Ln.
