PSI Announces Major Release of its SNMP Network Management Software for Resellers and End-users Reston, VA, October 10, 1990 - Martin L. Schoffstall, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Performance Systems International, Inc. (PSI), today announced that PSI's development team has released Version 4.0 of its SNMP Network Management Station (NMS) and agent/server implementation for immediate shipment. "Our customers benefit by our taking the lead in initiating and implementing new SNMP technologies and capabilities and then transferring the resulting, robust software to the marketplace." As co-authors of the specifications for SNMP and developers of the reference implementation of the protocol for both end-users and companies that resell PSI technology inside of their own products, PSI will introduce new functionality to its already cutting-edge tools: 1. Implementation of the second version of the Internet Management Information Base (MIB II) 2. Implementation of the experimental T-1 MIB 3. New terminal server application, snmptsmon 4. New application to monitor T-1 CSU's (Customer Service Unit), snmpt1mon 5. New curses-based application to monitor Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connections 6. Topology maps will be easier for the network manager to build and modify with a Computer Aided Design (CAD) front end for the snmpxmon2 mapping application PSI licenses source code for comprehensive technology transfer for single sites, multiple sites and for redistribution or resale. Single site, internal-use licenses are $8,500.00 for commercial organizations and $850.00 for academic and government institutions.
