InterCon announces SNMP Management Station: WatchTower* for Macintosh
Computers.
Herndon, VA -- (October 10, 1990) -- InterCon Systems Corporation once
again, in their continuing commitment to maintain the leadership
position in Macintosh standards-based networking, today announced the
industryUs first SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) management
station for Apple Corp.Us Mac O/S computer system, called WatchTower.
RDue to the high overall cost, that has been associated with the
various commercial implementations of SNMP-based network management
stations, InterCon offers a very robust and feature-rich solution for
the Macintosh, at a price that is most affordable,S said Jim Geddes,
Vice President of Sales with InterCon. ROur WatchTower software
approaches the monitoring capability differently than other vendors of
SNMP management stations, whereas WatchTower offers network mapping
capabilities, that are far more flexible and easy to use because of
the overall familiarity of standard Macintosh programs, such as
MacDrawS said Kurt Baumann, InterConUs President.
WatchTower will now offer TCP/IP-based network management
administrators a truly low-cost standards-based solution, until now,
not found in the industry. InterConUs timely introduction of the
WatchTower product, coupled with Apple Corp.Us anticipated October
15th introduction of their new low-cost Macintosh systems, lends
itself quite well as the ideal platform for all future network
management stations.
