InterCon Upgrades their TELNET DRIVER Product: TELNET DRIVER/TOOL* for
Macintosh Computers.
Herndon, VA -- (October 10, 1990) -- InterCon Systems Corporation
today announced that they have enhanced their popular selling TELNET
DRIVER networking software to now include an Apple Communications
Toolbox TCP tool.
RWith our new and improved TELNET DRIVER/TOOL software, users can
continue to use the popular serial communications programs, such as
MicroPhone II 3.0 and VersaTerm-Pro and now have the added ability to
open terminal emulation sessions via TCP/IP networks,S said Jim
Geddes, Vice President of Sales with InterCon. RWe added the
TELNET/TCP TOOL capability to our solution that will now allow our
customers to take full advantage of AppleUs CommToolBox, thereby
making available the numerous networking communication services that
are compatible with AppleUs CommToolBox.S
TELNET DRIVER/TOOL installs into VersaTerm-Pro and MicroPhone II 3.0,
and allows these programs to communicate with a host over a TCP/IP
virtual terminal connection (Telnet) as if they were connected by a
conventional serial line. Once the Telnet session is opened, it acts
just like a normal serial connection, with the capability to use
traditional file transfer methods and scripting capabilities. By
using MacTCP, users can continue to use other TCP/IP programs such as
InterConUs new NFS/Share at the same time. Interfacing between MacTCP
and serial communications, the TELNET DRIVER/TOOL provides users with
the combined power of the network and their current serial package.
