EURASIP SHORT COURSE (Eur. Ass. for Signal Processing) "MEDICAL IMAGING: TECHNIQUES AND TRENDS" March 20-22, 1991, University of Geneva, Switzerland Synopsis This two and half day course is designed for engineers, physicians and scientists already acquainted with numerical data processing, who wish to learn more about the rapidly-evolving field of medical imaging. Topics to be covered during the short course will: - recall the basics of image analysis; - present current techniques (eg. in 3D reconstruction, PET, MRI); - present some key application areas (eg. PACS, 1D and 2D gel analysis); - discuss new trends (eg. standards, AI in medicine). In addition to the course itself, there will be the opportunity for practical "hands-on" experiments using imaging workstations which will be at the disposal of participants. Medical imaging software will be distributed to participants during the course.
