Introducing Diagram! for NeXT computers.

o Rubberbanding lines and curves
Rubberbanding lines and curves spare you the tedium of having to
manually maintain connections and relationships in their drawings.
Move an object, and Diagram! automatically moves all the lines drawn
to it.
If you've ever experienced the frustration of trying to use a
free-hand illustration tool to draw structure diagrams (CASE or flow
diagrams, network or hierarchy charts, decision trees, etc.), you'll
understand Diagram!'s immediate value: its ability to maintain
structure and relationships, so you don't have to.
o File linking
File linking allows you to use graphics practically as they're used
conceptually: to represent other information--information stored in
source code, spreadsheets or spec files. To set a link between your
Diagram! drawing and any other such file or program, just drag and
drop files into it. Diagram! automatically establishes a link.
To view the newly linked file, just double-click, and Diagram! starts
up any other NeXTstep or UNIX application to open it.
Create hierarchical diagrams by linking a series of Diagram! files
together. Diagram! can even act as a coarse-grained hypertext tool.
o Symbol palettes
Symbol palettes allow you to customize Diagram! by organizing
frequently used symbols and images for easy retrieval. Collections of
symbols can be quickly viewed and incorporated with a simple point and
click.
Symbol palettes eliminate awkward drawing tool "modes"--to draw a
palette shape, just point to it and "tear off" a copy into your
drawing. No more guessing about your program's default styles.

o Voice annotation
Voice annotation permits you to give a presentation once, and let
others listen to it when they have the time. Just double-click the
lips to hear sound recorded with the NeXT's built-in microphone or
from other sources.
Sound adds another layer of depth to your work, while saving you the
time and effort of repetitious presentations. And your audience can
easily send back verbal commentary and feedback.
o Smart undo and undelete commands
Smart undo allows you to specify the objects to which "undo" should
apply. Smart undelete even remembers to recreate connections to
deleted objects--even if the objects to which the deleted object was
originally attached have been moved or changed.
o Remembering open files
By remembering open files, Diagram! can start up where you left off by
opening all the palettes and documents open the last time you quit.
Checking this preference means you no longer have to go hunting
through directories to find the last set of palettes and documents you
were working on.
o Standard drawing tool features
Of course, Diagram! offers you the features of a standard drawing
tool, too, such as gridding, grouping, layering, zooming, and
alignment.
Diagram! also supports color for fill, outline, and shadows, as well
as offering several arrowheads and dash patterns.

software. You can copy from Diagram! and paste EPS or TIFF images into
any other NeXT program.
