AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 06, 1991 -- Dell Computer Corporation
(NASDAQ:DELL) announced today the industry's first 80386DX
computers in a low-profile, small-footprint package offering
upgradeability to i486TM technology. The aggressively-priced
systems provide affordable entry to 80386DX computing and include
optional upgrades for i486 processing, cache memory and greater
video capability. Also introduced today by the direct
manufacturer is the first i486 desktop computer in a small
chassis.

Designed to fit on any desk, the DellR Systems 325P, 333P
and 433P each measure 15.1"W x 15.6"D x 4.0"H and are based on
Intel'sR 25- and 33-megahertz (MHz) 80386DX and 33MHz i486
microprocessors, respectively. System pricing starts at $2499
for the Dell SystemR 325P and $2899 for the Dell System 333P,
with 1 megabyte (MB) of random access memory (RAM) and a 40MB IDE
hard drive; and $4999 for the Dell System 433P, with 2MB RAM and
a 100MB IDE hard drive. Each of the systems also include a 5.25-
inch, 1.2MB or 3.5-inch, 1.44MB floppy drive; a VGA Color Plus
Monitor; and Dell's award-winning service and support.

"The Dell Systems 325P and 333P offer the budget-minded
buyer an exceptional value," said Joel J. Kocher, senior vice
president of U.S. sales and operations. "These new systems
deliver affordable solutions for 80386DX computing today,
with alternatives to expand system capabilities or upgrade to
faster microprocessing when needed or within budget. The very
aggressive pricing of our System 433P makes it an ideal purchase
for those desiring the power and performance of an i486-based
system, at a price comparable to many of our competitors' 386SX-
based machines.

     "With today's introductions, our 386DX-, 386SX- and i486-
based product range expands to 15 systems -- one of the most
comprehensive product lines in the industry. The product line
expansion continues our commitment to provide numerous options in
chassis size, speed and expandability in order to meet a wide
variety of users' needs."

NUMEROUS OPTIONS AVAILABLE IN SMALL PACKAGES

The proprietary design of the Dell System 325P and System
333P incorporates a dedicated upgrade slot on the main system
board so there is no impact on available expansion slots when
upgrading the system. Offered as options are an upgrade card for
i486 technology or a cache memory board for increased performance
of the systems' 80386DX microprocessor. Either plug-in card can
be easily installed into the dedicated slot and offer users a
choice for increasing system performance. Priced at $2399, the
33-MHz i486 upgrade card offers the full performance of an i486
design. The optional cache memory board includes 32 kilobytes
(K) of high-speed static RAM and is priced at $299.

The Dell System 325P and optional cache memory upgrade are
available for immediate shipment. The Dell System 333P, i486
upgrade card and 433P are scheduled for release within the next
two months.

Several integrated I/O features are provided on all three
computers including a 16-bit VGA video subsystem supporting up to
1024 x 768 resolution. The Dell System 325P and System 333P
contain 256K RAM standard, upgradeable to 512K for higher
resolution at a price of $49. The Dell System 433P comes
standard with 512K video RAM. Each of the systems also incorporate
three 16-bit, full-length expansion slots that can be used to
customize the computer based on individual needs.

The Dell System 325P, System 333P and System 433P also
feature system and keyboard password protection and a locking
chassis to prevent unauthorized access. Larger mass storage
options are available, ranging from 80MB-320MB IDE to 200MB SCSI
hard disk drives, as well as an additional selection of monitors.
