[comp.newprod] Pascal Compilers for Unix

ercs50@castle.ed.ac.uk (support) (03/20/91)

EPC Pascal-E is a substantially extended implementation of ISO
standard Pascal available on Intel 386/486, SPARC and Motorola 88K
running the major implementations of UNIX, including SunOS, UNIX V.2,
V.3, V.4, SCO, Interactive and DYNIX.

Extensions include modules, strings and structured function results
and other features of the ISO standard for extended Pascal. The result
is the richest dialect of Pascal available on UNIX.

The EPC Pascal-E implementation includes a high-speed, high quality
compiler, runtime support libraries, automatic make, post-failure
diagnostic facilities and full documentation. Various switches are
available to control the language dialect, the degree of runtime
checking and the detail of diagnostic information. Explicit checks
can be made for uninitialized variable use and sub-range violations.

The compiler was designed to provide fast compilation coupled with
reliable code generation. EPC Pascal-E is fully integrated with the
UNIX environment. The compiler generates standard object files and
follows the calling conventions for the operating system, enabling the
use of standard utility libraries and mixed language programming. A
library of system interface routines is also provided to ease the
interface with the UNIX operating system.

EPC Pascal-E represents a commercially viable, substantially extended
dialect designed to support medium- to large-scale software
development.

EPC compilers are competitively priced and discounts are available for
educational establishments and bulk orders.
