Island Write, Draw & Paint Shipping for DECstation Family

              Best-Selling UNIX Desktop Publishing Package
        Now Available for DECstation 2100, 3100 & 5000 Workstations

San Rafael, California, March 25, 1991 -- Island Graphics Corporation
today announced it is shipping Island Write, Draw & Paint for Digital
Equipment Corporation's RISC based DECstation workstation family.
Write, Draw & Paint, the first desktop publishing software to ship for
OSF/Motif, runs on the DECstation 2100, the DECstation 3100, and the
DECstation 5000 Model 200 workstations.

"Our customers in multi-vendor environments have been asking for Write,
Draw and Paint for DECstations since they first started shipping for
Motif last July," said Paul Remer, Island's executive vice president.
"Now DECstation users have an affordable way to create
professional-quality presentations, memos, letters and illustrated
reports without turning to complicated technical documentation packages
or to Macs. In fact, Write, Draw & Paint for Motif has been praised for
its Mac-like ease of use, and it costs significantly less than a
combination of similar Mac-based word processing, desktop publishing,
and graphics packages."

Write, Draw & Paint

Write, Draw & Paint provides easy-to-use WYSIWYG desktop publishing
tools for engineers, managers and administrative staff. It is the
best-selling UNIX desktop publishing program, according to Dataquest,
and earned a 1989 UnixWorld Product of the Year award. It also won Sun
Observer's 1990 Best Word Processing Product award. Write comes with a
set of professional document templates that provide users with
pre-designed layouts. Import and export features allow documents
created in Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, FrameMaker, and Interleaf to
keep their formatting as they are imported into Write.

Draw and Paint let users illustrate their documents with original art,
scanned images, organization charts, maps and diagrams. CGM graphics
like Lotus 1-2-3 graphs and HPGL graphics such as AutoCAD plots can be
imported into Draw, edited and annotated with text. Draw also lets
users convert clip-art from PostScript and Encapsulated PostScript
(EPS) formats and edit them. Paint supports the industry-standard TIFF
file format. It also provides conversions to and from Sun Raster,
MacPaint, GIF, Group 3 FAX, X Bitmap and X Window Dump formats. Each
program provides output to PostScript and HP LaserJet printers.

Pricing, Availability and Support

Write, Draw & Paint lists for $995, and is available from Island
Graphics and its network of value added resellers. It is available
through distributors in all major European markets as well as in Japan
from Unisol. Island Graphics offers 30 day toll-free support for
