NEW YORK, NY - Datability Inc. has begun shipping a new 16 MHZ X.25 PAD card for use with it's VCP-1000 communications platform. The card offers 60% improved performance over the previous model, at no additional cost. The VCP-1000 X.25 PAD Card is a high performance full function X.25 PAD that integrates all of the hardware and software required to support bi-directional WAN/LAN X.25 connections to LAT and TCP/IP systems. In addition to standard V.24 (RS-232D) and V.35 connectors, the card features a V.11 port to support X.21 modem communications. The new add-in card eliminates equipment and cabling normally required to connect LAN and WAN users. It supports speeds of up to 64k bps, providing 64 virtual circuits at a price that typically is found on 8 port units. Priced at $3199, the card is available for immediate delivery through Datability's VARS in the U.S. and Canada and business partners throughout Asia and Europe. The VCP-1000 is a modular communications platform that combines network access for multiple connectivity strategies within a single 5 1/4" high, free standing or rack mountable, high performance unit. The product currently offers network interconnectivity between DEC and UNIX Systems, with LAT, TCP/IP TELNET/RLOGIN, SLIP, X.25, internal and external modems, PCs, printers, asynchronous terminals and IBM hosts.
