Datability's Enhanced Network Interface Cards Datability Inc. of N.Y. has a new series of LAT, TCP/IP and dual protocol network interface cards for its VCP-1000. The VCP-1000 communications platform provides network users with interconnectivity between DEC and UNIX systems, access to X.25 network and remote IBM SNA hosts, and supports terminals, pc's, printers, and modems. The new Enhanced Network Interface Cards (E-NICs) double the port density capability of the VCP-1000, accommodating a new maximum of 256 users. In addition, the cards incorporate custom gate array logic. 10Base-T support is available. The servers come with resident software, but the new cards feature a unique ROM card architecture for optional network-wide downloading, booting and future protocol expansion and upgrades. The new series of E-NICs is available at $1499 for single protocol configurations and $1899 for the dual protocol LAT/TCP. 10Base-T support is available for an additional $250. A trade-in program for installed customers has been implemented to upgrade existing users. For more information call Mike Lazoff at (212) 807-7800 or lazoff@doc.dss.com.
