ppaone@mabjab.UU.NET (Phil Paone) (05/17/91)

Shuss Systems Inc. announces the release of Permon[tm], a
performance monitoring tool for UNIX System V based computers.

If you are trying to get the most out the limited resources of your
UNIX workstation, Permon[tm] is the product for you. It is a
performance and resource monitoring tool for the 3B2 and several 386
based UNIX System V systems.

Permon[tm] is a color character based system. Its display can be
customized depending on your needs. In addition there are log and
playback facilities, similar to the UNIX sar command. Finally, there
is a report of overflowed resources.

Some of the statistics that Permon[tm] can display are: Streams
Allocation, I/O activity, CPU Usage, Memory and Swap usage and more.

Developers can benchmark applications by monitoring system activity
during execution. System administrators can keep a close watch on
important statistics that affect performance.

For Open Desktop users, a graphical version of ps is included. It
uses the Motif user interface to allow you to examine statistics on
running processes in a user friendly manner. It also allows the
signaling and changing of nice values for a process.

Also included is a 300 page book giving all the information needed
to understand and act upon the information provided.

Permon[tm] is available for the 3B2 running System V release 3.2,
386 based systems running SCO ODT or AT&T Unix System V release 3.2.
The cost is only $495.00 per 3B2 or $295.00 per 386 based UNIX. Both
are available now.
