As I'm accessing from Paris, please consolidate replies direct to my mailbox 71450,1223. I'm beginning to organize several microcomputer-related exchanges with the Soviet Union and seeking input for these proposals:. 1) "Computer-literate" North American young people (to age 16) could attend computer camps (on the Black Sea or in Estonia) with their Soviet counterparts beginning next summer. Detailed announcement to be made later, but if you know individuals or computer clubs from which candidates could come, please ask them to establish contact at my mailbox (71450,1223). 2) A bilateral seminar to be held in Moscow. Topics could include the pedagogy of teaching adults to use computers and economic/health issues surrounding computer use (VDUs). Am seeking names of North American specialists in these areas. Also ideas for forms of future cooperation we might propose and discuss at the seminar. Financial basis of seminar: our side would pay way to Moscow, receive accommodations and in-country travel as guests, would later reciprocate in some way. 3) Your ideas for other exchanges (training teachers and others, software writing, etc.) are welcome, and I will present them to Soviet counterparts. NOTE: I've been taking US adult groups on study trips to the USSR for 7 yrs. The next one, for trade union activists only, is planned for 7 Nov-8 Dec. If interested, please give mailing address for info. Thank you, Eric Or call UNITEX BBS (212) 764-5912 (300/1200, 24 hrs) for information on United Nations personnel working on this project.
