 Disabled Interest Group's Electronic Exchange

      Dedicated to the needs and issues of people with disabilities. 
      Agencies serving the handicapped are invited to use this board as 
      an electronic newsletter or message service for a truly broad-based 
      communication exchange; jobs wanted/needed, technical suggestions and
      advice regarding hardware/software.  The SYSOP (System  Operator) is 
      Milton Blackstone;


 DIG El Paso (Disabled Interest Group) BBS
   (915) 592-5424 (300/1200/2400, 24 hrs)

      This board runs on an IBM AT with a Hayes 2400 modem.  Files are of 
      the MSDOS variety; Sam Thomas is the SYSOP in El Paso, TX and promises
      FidoNet software in the future.

      First established in Vienna, Virginia in 1979, this BBS was moved, 
      redesigned and expanded a few years later.  It is currently the only 
      BBS in the USA accessible to both 300 Baud ASCII callers and to the 
      TTY's widely used by the deaf.

 Disabled Children's Computer Group BBS

      Established in early 1985, this system is operated at the University 
      of California (Berkeley).  DCCG BBS conducts regular workshops on the 
      subject of disabled children and computers.

      SYSOP Mike Hales modeled this BBS after HEX BBS; it began service in 
      early 1985 and is currently ASCII only.  It is intended to serve the 
      deaf community and is currently progressing to compatibility with TTY's.

      Dr. Shuping is a neurologist in the field of rehabilitation and
      his system contains many interesting files in that area of medicine; 
      currently ASCII only.

      Marlin Sheffield is the SYSOP of this FIDO BBS with one message 
      conference dedicated to disabhilities and special education.  The 
      system began in early 1985 and currently operates part time weekdays: 
      10 PM thru 5 PM the next day and weekends: 10 PM thru 9 PM the next day.

      Sysops are Eric Bohlman and John Nelson in Chicago, Illinois; operating 
      on an Apple ][+ and a 10 meg. hard drive with PMS software supporting 
      ASCII only and containing a publicly accessible section in addition to 
      one limited to COPH members only.

 POLY BBS FIDO Net 503 Node 11 (Central Node: COMPULINK,WOKING)
   01-580-1690  (1200/1200 Baud CCITT/BELL, 24 hrs.)
             (300/300 Baud CCITT and 1200/75 Baud CCITT Modems)

      Hardware includes Olivetti M24 personal commputer with 640K RAM,
      floppy drive, 10 meg hard disk and Miracle Technology V22 Modem.
      This BBS is part of the FIDONET International BBS Network and is 
      capable of sending/receiving mail/files from/to other boards in 
      the FidoNet via a central "node" for England.  Information by
      voice phone is also available: 09274-21178.
