According to an article in the September issue of MicroTimes, the California Assembly will vote tomorrow on a bill to extend First Amendment-type search and seizure protection to electronic communications. The measure, titled ACA 36, was introduced by Assemblywoman Gwen Moore. If passed, the bill will amend the state constitution, specifying that personal information stored in electronic information systems and computer databases be included in search and seizure restrictions provided by the constitution. -- Jim Day
