This past Sunday evening, I watched the first hour episode of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. An interesting point arose when I read between the lines of the script. A teenage character in the show, Wes, had done some science project, supposedly for a human instructor. In the previous Star Trek series, it was apparent (I think) that education was almost strictly via computers. Or at least, to a large degree. What I am interested in is any such observations by COMPSOC-L readers, as to how media today reflects peoples attiutudes towards computer technology. William J. Joel Marist College
