Whatever happened to Roger Duffey, the guy who, while at MIT in the mid-70s, created the network mailing lists and the concept of a "Digest"? I just happened to think of him the other day. Also, just as a curiosity, how many people still out there have been on the nets since that time? I know that I and one other person here (Rich Zellich) have received the SF-Lovers Digest since its creation (that was the first Digest), and there were others we received that disappeared over the years (anyone else remember Human-Nets Digest?). Rich still maintains the List-of-Lists and I still read and participate in several net fora. We've managed to hang in there despite changes in access methods, computers, and operating systems. Both of us still work for the same organization (its name changed several times but we didn't). I wonder how many other old-timers are still active in the net.
