May I reiterate, what seems to be missing in our efforts to get on with the gifting of used computers to the 3rd world would appear to be a link to the charitable non-profit groups globally who know all the customs/ immigration/security problems in the various countries, both exporting and importing. Would this be the place to launch a plea for a new newsgroup: soc.culture.globalaid, or some such name. Can we discuss this idea, and see what comes of it, starting with the need to assess what equipment and services might be POTENTIALLY available, and where they might be sent, and under what charitable auspices. So far, I believe we have had calls for deliveries to: 1. China 2. Africa 3. USSR Any others? And what goods & services were being offered to go where? Lets make some sense of all this desire to help. Melcir
