After heated debate in the industry, Lotus Corporation announced last week that they have withdrawn the Lotus Marketplace "Households" CDROM product from the market and have no further plans to sell the information in the future. They commented to the Wall Street Journal that they spent quite a bit of money on educating the public about the "perceived but incorrect" dangers of the product, but that public sentiment was still very against the dissemination of the information collated in the Households disk.
