Recently, Dave Taylor mentions one form of electronic harassment. Unfortunately, electronic harassment seems to be an increasingly common tactic. About a month ago, I was hounded off another remote forum (Computers and Composition Digest) because I disagreed with the majority opinion about our stance in the Persian Gulf. In brief, the majority opinion was that we were there only to protect our oil interests, and I had the audacity to suggest that international relations weren't that simple. Individual subscribers on the list set me electronic hate mail, clogging my mailbox, forcing me to take the time to separate the wheat from the chaff. Certainly one of the disadvantages of electronic-mediation is the potential for abuse. Joel P. Bowman
