I am interested in finding out about organizations that lobby in the field of computer law (for protection of privacy, updating laws to handle technological advances, etc.). I want to pursue this as a career, perhaps after going to law school, and would like some exposure, either as volunteer or employee. I prefer something in NY city or nearby (NJ, CT), or any organization I can work with remotely (via modem, phone or letter). Many thanks! -S. -- ( rutgers!cmcl2!panix!simona, uunet!jyacc!david, simona@panix.uucp )

Dear Simona, Unfortunately, you do not have a lot of choices, to the best of my knowledge. Your choices include: The Anerican Civil Liberties Union The Consumers Union The Electronic Frontiers Foundation Rob Kling
les@DEC-Lite.Stanford.EDU (Les Earnest) (05/02/91)
I would add the following to Rob Kling's list: Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility Privacy Council (just now being organized) Les Earnest
tower@buitc.bu.edu (Len H. Tower Jr.) (05/04/91)
Another organization lobbying in the field of computer law is: The League for Programming Freedom You can reach them electronically at: league@prep.ai.mit.edu len
