The SLAC unified graphics system has a couple of vector fonts; these include greek and some other symbols. Nothing like italics or boldface or anything really fancy, though. I don't really know much about typesetting, but I believe that real fonts don't scale exactly; you might try Knuth's MetaFont. More info on TeX and MetaFont can be had from Tex User's Group, c/o American Mathematical Society, P.O. Box 6248, Providence, RI 02940. The SLAC system is available from Robert C. Beach, Computation Research Group, Stanford Linear Accelerator center, Stanford, CA, 94305. Stew

From: David Chase <rbbb@rice.ARPA> The Hershey vector fonts may be had from NTIS for a few hundred dollars. Try writing to them and asking for this: PB-263 925 "A Contribution to Computer Typesetting Techniques, 9-track ASCII" National Technical Information Service 5285 Port Royal Road Springfield, VA 22161 If you can't digest 9-track ASCII or EBCDIC, then you are out of luck (unless you decide to type them in by hand from the documentation that comes with the tape).
