I am involved in an exhaustive literature search on any and all graphic input devices. Some of the most applicable I found so far are: 1) Card, S., English, W., Burr, B. Evaluation of Mouse, Joystick, Step Keys, and Text Keys for Text Selection, 1978. 2) Embley, D., Nagy, G. Behavioral Aspects of Text Editors, 1981. 3) English, W., Engelbart, D., Berman, M. Display-Selection Techniques for Text Manipulation, 1967. 4) Hottman, S.B. Selection of Remotely Labeled Functions During Dual Task Performance, 1981. 5) Hunstad, A., Brown, B. An Evaluation of Certain Interactive Input Devices Associated With Computer Driven Displays, 1970. 6) Kroemer, K.H.E. Human Engineering the Keyboard, 1972. 7) Morrill, C.S., Goodwin, N.C. User Input Mode and Computer- Aided Instructions, 1968. 8) Price, L. Use of Mouse Buttons, 1983. 9) Root,R.T. Man-Computer Communication Techniques: Two Experiments, 1967. 10) Sharma, D. Human Interface Design of the Display Text Editor TED, 1981 11) Usher, D.M. Comparison of a Touch-Sensitive VDU and Computer-Aided Keypad for Plant Control, 1983 12) Whitfield, D. Some Comparisons of On-Display and Off-Display Touch Input Devices for Interaction With Computer Generated Displays, 1983 For those of you who know, am I missing any significant research articles in this field? Specifically, the areas being considered are human interfaces and comparison studies of GIN (human) performance. Author, title, periodical, and year published should be enough. A thousand thanks in advance. Novia Ann Weiman teklabs!noviaw Human Factors Research Group Tektronix, Inc. P.O. Box 500, MS 50-320 Beaverton, Oregon 97077 (503) 627-1752
