Are you interested in modeling buildings, or
circuits? BRL has some interesting solid modeling
capabilities that run under UNIX; we use it for
modeling vehicles and buildings.

If you think this matches your requirements, you
should consider comming to visit to see a demonstration.

In many ways what we have seems crude (to the developers)
because we can imagine so much more, but our existing
tools have astonishing power. The benefits of having the
computer model become especially obvious when various
applications are used to study the structure you have
represented, eg, visual spectra, infra-red and ultra-violet
emissions, gamma-ray permeability, radar signature, etc, etc.

Best,
