From: glennp@maryland (Glenn Pearson) I'm beginning a research project involving the use of foot-activated devices, used in conjuction with CRTs or workstations. I would appreciate any pointers to existing work in this area, either literature references or information on existing devices. For example: - there was an article in BYTE a year ago about the use of a foot pedal as an auxillary CONTROL key; - Atari makes a platform for children to stand on, designed to seem like standing on a pair of skis, which allows body motion to control a home video game. -there are countless commercial video games that simulate driving & have a gas pedal. Particularly helpful would be any information about controlled experiments with such devices, especially in editing/word-processing/data-entry applications. Thanks.
