From: Ken Laws <Laws@SRI-AI.ARPA> From the CMU bboard: Thanks to several people who responded to my post about a ball-point mouse; what I'm looking for is a mouse that LOOKS like a pen (stylus-shaped). It seems to me that this would be a much better way to input drawings. Kenneth.Goldberg@CMU-CS-H kyg@cmu-cs-h.arpa An SRI group makes a force-sensitive pen that is used for signature analysis. I believe it measures forces in x, y, and z directions; I assume that it also measures x-y position. This input device would allow an artist considerably more freedom in sketching and "brush stroking" than does a mouse. -- Ken Laws -------

There is a whole industry that makes such devices; they are called ``digitizer tablets''. Visit any computer store that serves the CAD/CAM market.
