Title: Edinburgh Working Papers in Cognitive Science, Volume 1:
Categorial Grammar, Unification Grammar and Parsing

Author: N. Haddock, E. Klein and G. Morrill (eds)

Date: February, 1987

Ref. No:	EUCCS/WP-1

Abstract:

This volume presents a sample of recent research in computational and
theoretical linguistics at Edinburgh. The papers, which were written by
students and faculty from the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Cognitive
Science and the Department of Artificial Intelligence, reflect the strong
current interest in monostratal grammar formalisms and the attendant issues of
semantic interpretation and parsing. The contents are as follows:

Glyn Morrill,
	`Meta-Categorial Grammar'

Mark Steedman,
 	`Combinatory Grammars and Parasitic Gaps'

Nicholas Haddock,
`Incremental Interpretation and Combinatory Categorial Grammar'

Remo Pareschi,
`Combinatory Grammar, Logic Programming, and Natural Language
 	Processing'

John Phillips and Henry Thompson,
`A Parser for Generalised Phrase Structure Grammars'

Graeme Ritchie,
`The Computational Complexity of GPSG Parsing'

Einar Jowsey,
 	`Montague Grammar and First-Order Logic'

Henk Zeevat, Ewan Klein, and Jo Calder,
 	`Unification Categorial Grammar'
