Under the \SYSTEM directory there are some numbered sub-directories which each contain two hidden system files - a .SYS file and a .SRV file. Some of these files appear never to close. If the server is rebooted, the open .SRV files are recreated automatically, whilst the open .SYS files have their modified date changed. The .SYS files are 512 bytes but appear to contain nothing. Open .SYS files are owned by the file server (a non-existant user), whereas closed .SYS files are owned by Supervisor. Both open and closed .SRV files are 0 bytes, and are also owned by the server. 1. What are these files, and should they be owned by the server? 2. Can they be deleted? If so, how? rosi@greybox.oz.au Phone: +61 54-403376 FAX: +61 54-403477
