[comp.protocols.misc] WWVB software wanted

ras@blade.UUCP (R.A. Schnitzler) (02/18/88)

We have a Spectracom WWVB synchronized clock/receiver, and I am trying
to use it for a time reference for our ethernetted systems. I think
that I have to use the RS232C connector to come into our VAX8650
(Ultrix) through a terminal port. The clock gives the current time in
ascii in response to an ascii command.

My question, then, is: Does anyone have any software (or suggestions)
for using such a beast to accurately set the system time? How about
for then synchronizing other hosts to the master? What newsgroup(s)
would be better for this?

Thanks,

Ray
