I have access to the Internet through a VAX (running VMS) at work. I think the machine is running an "older" TCP/IP package (I don't know which). At any rate, the machine is not running the Wollongong package. My question is this: How can one get directory info from remote machines if he knows at least the directory path on that machine? My machine's package does not seem to support the DIR command. If there is no way to get it via ftp, then is there a way to request the file names in a public directory from someone like "postmaster@site"? Is there a standard procedure for this type of thing? There must be others with the same problem. -- Internet: pascoe@godot.GTE.COM Dave Pascoe Smart Mailer: km3t@jjmhome.UUCP KM3T/1 UUCP: ....!harvard!m2c!jjmhome!km3t Packet Radio: KM3T @ K1UGM.MA.USA.NA
