As a part of my practical work, I'm investigating how bounced mail is handled on different sites. For the paper that I'm writing, I need a definition of a "computer network". We all know what a network is (don't we?), but giving a good definition turns out to be more difficult. Personally, i make a seperation between the first 3 layers of the OSI model (which I call the fysical network) and the upper layers (which I call the logical network). My question to you all is: What do *YOU* think is a good definition of a computer network in general and what do you think is a good definition of both a fysical and a logical network? If you send me your answers (thank you already, BTW) by e-mail, than I will make a summary of them to the net. Marc Peeters (j15@nikhefh.nikhef.nl)
