Does anyone have a concise description of the differences between the V.32 and the V.29 protocols? My wife's clinic is installing a computer system with remote terminals at a satillite office connected by a dedicated leased line. They are being told that they need a V.29 modem rather than a V.32 modem for the leased application. Is that true? Does the V.29 give them any advantages or disadvantages over the V.32? Does a V.29 modem provide dial-up capability as a back-up in case the leased line goes down? Many thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Please e-mail your responses...if there is sufficient interest, I will post a summary.
