[comp.protocols.misc] XMODEM & YMODEM

Can someone tell me where to find a description of XMODEM and YMODEM,
hopefully including most of the common variants (1K,4K, supercharged)?

Could anyone with any pointers to such information send them my way too?

Thanks, Matt.

I have had absolutely 0 luck on getting anything on where to get hold of
algorithms for X&Y modem protocols. I did get abt 150 pages of C source
code for ZMODEM (all printed out and gone, sorry). It seems that
no one wants to tell anyone else how to program these protocols...

Andy, the protocol documentation for X/Y/Zmodem is available from
SIMTEL20, along with many other protocol documents. You can get them
with anonymous FTP or via LISTSERV@VM1.NODAK.EDU (also known as
NDSUVM1.BITNET).
