[comp.protocols.misc] Tandem 6530 terminal emulator

paulf@deere.com (Paul A. Fisher) (02/14/91)

We are looking for a product similar to tn3270, except it emulates a Tandem
6530 terminal instead of an IBM 3270 terminal. We now have TCP/IP running on
our Tandems, but we don't have good terminal access across the network.

We need to run this product on a Sun workstation (Sunview).

We have heard that this product does exist, but so far we have found no leads.

Any information or pointers would be very helpful.

Thanks.

One exists. It's called TN6530. It comes with the TCP/IP S/W you order from
Tandem.

That's true, but it's only the server. The original release included a
TN6530 client for the Sun workstation. How about a TN6530 client for
DOS machines? Seems like that would be a helluva lot more useful to most
people than a Sun version, esp. since the PC's with Tandem's name on
them are DOS machines. I understand that there are TN6530 clients for
Mac's and even an X-Windows version but so far I haven't heard of a DOS
version. If anyone knows of one, please let me know.
