I have a friend who is reading up on network protocols. He has asked my what something means he has read and it seems people are just supposed to know what they are talking about. It is in referance to a "protocol stack." Like talking about converting from one protocol stack top another, or maybe about how routers implement a protocol stack. He theorizes they might be talking about something like the OSI layer model. I couldn't think of anything else it might be. Someone on here must know, since it's assumed to be widely known. I don't read this group so if you could email it, that would be appreciated. -- Steve Brailsford (fsb@vitro.com) _____ Usenet: uupsi!vitro!fsb \/itro Corporation Compu$erve: 73427,1466 14000 Georgia Ave. Voice: (301) 231-1481 Silver Spring, MD 20906
