[comp.protocols.appletalk] Telnet recommendation and K-Spool query

magorian@UMD5.UMD.EDU (Dan Magorian) (06/18/87)

SOmewhat belatedly, I would like to recommend the telnet package developed by
Gaige Paulsen, Tim Krauskopf, and Swami Natarajan of the National Center for
Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Champaign.
For peoplwho don't need all the CAP stuff, it is a simple, well-written,
well-documented telnet that supports concurrent windows to multiple computers
and built-in ftp client initiated by a host computer, as well as Tek 4010
emulation. It runs through the Kinetics Fastpath or the Kinetics EtherSC on
Macs and MacIIs. It's nice, it works, and they're very responsive. It's
available via anonymous ftp from uxc.cso.uiuc.edu outside of business hours
central time.
