[comp.protocols.appletalk] CITI MacIP drivers soon to be released.

tom@CITI.UMICH.EDU (10/14/87)

CITI will release the CITI MacIP drivers on October 20. My apologies
for the extended delay.

This release (release 1) includes a UDP/IP driver and interface
libraries, a TCP library, a domain name service library, the CITI
loader, source code, and include files for all the above (in MPW C).
TCP, UDP, and IP provide the standard client interface defined here at
CITI as well as a BSD socket interface for UDP. The release comes in
two parts: a binary distribution for people who will use the drivers
for network application development and a source distribution for
people who plan do development on the code.

This release will be distributed via anonymous ftp from
citi.umich.edu. I will send out another announcement with details when
the files are actually available. We will also distribute on (two)
floppies when we decide what the media charge will be. Again, I'll
make another announcement when that is available.

We intend to continue development. Future releases will include TCP as
a driver, support for Ethernet, and a full BSD socket interface. We
would like to incorporate other enhancements as well. Please send
comments, bug fixes, and enhancements to the address below.
