Hi, can sombody out there clarify for me who can supply TCP/IP (or other protocol) that utilise the Ethertalk card in a MACII not runnig AUX. I am aware of KIP/CAP etc but is some of these packages compatible with Ethertalk or do you need a Kietics gateway. We want to communicate with a couple of UNIX hosts (EFS would be great) and also a couple of VAX/VMS hosts with CMU/TCP-IP /Mats sysdan@semax51.bitnet mats@bmc1.uu.se (@seismo.css.gov) Biomedical Center, University of Uppsala, Sweden

I would also like TCP/IP stuff for Ethertalk card on my mac II under Mac OS. 1) I want to plug my mac II into our Ethernet internet and communicate with the Hundreds of Hp unix boxes (running of course HP-UX). 2) I do not want to have to buy a Kinetics box. I do not see why I should have to buy yet another box when my lowly Vectra (a lowly IBM pc compatible) can do this with a 3com lan card and pc-ip software. 3) Would the NCSA Telenet software work? (under conditions in #s 1 & 2). David L. Williams dlw@hpda

I have been using the ethernet version of the NCSA telnet (telnet2.1e) to communicate with suns and vax's over an ethernet (using tcp/ip).

NCSA Telnet for the Macintosh version 2.1E supports EtherTalk direct access. It is part of the version 2.1 distribution. Yes, full MultiFinder support too. Anonymous ftp from ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu (128.174.20.50). Tim Krauskopf National Center for Supercomputing Applications timk@ncsa.uiuc.edu
