[comp.protocols.appletalk] Unix utility patch

BLASCO@ICNUCEVM.BITNET (A. Blasco Bonito) (02/19/88)

I'm installing CAP on a Sun OS3.2. A 'patch utility by Larry Wall'
is mentioned in one of the CAP installation documents. My understanding
is that it is necessary to apply patches 5, 6 and 7 to the distribution.
Am I right? If yes where can I find that utility?

Strictly speaking, patch is not necessary, it simply makes life much
easier. Using patch should take about 15 minutes vs. about 30minutes
to 3 hours (doing it by hand) to update the sources.

You can find patch version 1.3 in Volume 1 of comp.sources.unix on
uunet.net.uu (via anonymous ftp). We actually have patch version 2.0
and I'm not sure if the patch 1.3 will work properly. I don't
remember how patch version 2.0 was distributed.
