Anyone have any experience with TOPS Repeater for AppleTalk? Does it work with PhoneNet connectors? Any info on distances and retiming and such. Thanks in advance. -- Jim Gogan (ugogan@ecsvax.uncecs.edu) Univ. of North Carolina -- Jim Gogan mail:ugogan@ecsvax (UUCP/BITNET) Microcomputing Support Center University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chapel Hill, NC 27599

We use Tops repeaters. Apparently Farallon uses them, to. We run a mixed LocalTalk/Phonenet installation, and our three Tops Repeaters have saved our *sses. No problems with either type of physical network. In fact, they make good 'bridges'. However, there is the suspicion that the repeaters may interfere with the use of NCSA Telnet 2.1 over Kinetics boxes running atgw.srec. We aren't sure... there's a tie-in with the level of the +5 volt supply in the Macs. /kenw A L B E R T A Ken Wallewein R E S E A R C H kenw@noah.arc.cdn C O U N C I L
